New Braunfels Park
My friend Amy and I took the kids to the NB park pool and to ride the train. Ashton loves water so as you can imagine it was hard to get him to leave the pool to go ride the train. Emily is so cute. Ashton normally hangs out around Emily and keeps her occupied but not when it comes to the pool. The train brings back memories from our childhood, even same train conductor. That day there was a man from the Herald that was writing an article about the train and Amy and I were quoted in the paper. That was cool. Amy also showed me the tree that the Bunco Babes bought in memory of Rachel. It is located along the train route because she LOVED riding the train.

Happy 4th of July!!
We went to Arkansas this year for the 4th. Ashton loved the sparklers and the smaller fireworks but the loud bang of the big fireworks hurt his ears, or so he said. I think it was an excuse because he could not sit still that long. He was constantly trying to find something else to do. Anymore sparklers?

Playing Baseball
Robby and Ashton played baseball while we were spending some time with Robby's family in Arkansas. Ashton found his new found sport, baseball while we were there. Before we arrived to Robby's mom's house we stopped off at a Wal Mart and Ashton just had to had this baseball bat. So we bought it and like they say, the rest is history. He wanted to play baseball the whole time we were there.

Father's Day 2010
Father's Day was low key. We at lunch at Adobe Cafe and then went to see Toy Story 3. Ashton loved it, and Robby too. Then we went next door to explore the pet store to see all the different animals. Robby and I both thought having a farret would be cool but they are not cute to say the least and they have been compared to a 2 year old. Lets just say I do not see a farret in our future. After that we went to Marble Slab to have some ice cream. Yum! Later that evening we went to my mom's to have dinner with my immediate family.

ABCDEF........
Last night, Ashton was sitting on the couch and started singing his ABC's. When he was finished Robby and I thought about it and realized that he didn't miss any letters. This was a first normally he left out EF and G. But he actually said them all. YEA!! We had him sing them again just to make sure and to our surprise he said them all again. For the past few months we have noticed that he does recognize letters. For instance, if Robby or I have on a shirt with words on it then he will spell the word. Now we just have to work on sounding out the letters which they are working on at school. He is actually doing well with that too. If you ask him to sound out any letter of the alphabet and he will do it correctly.

Put Your Head on My Heart, Daddy
Last night Ashton and Robby were laying on our bed watching UP and Ashton tells Robby, "Daddy, put your head right here... on my heart... I love you." How cute!! Can we say Proud Father!

6/9/2010 flood at our house
Here is a video taken from our front porch. Notice the corner where the two streets meet, this is where a river formed that stranded us for a couple of hours. The 4 years that we have lived here I have never seen this. There were actually rapids in this newly formed river. But after a couple of hours the water went down and we were able to pass.

Port A. Trip
Ashton had to have his ring when he went out into the water. When he was in the water, the ring was apart of him. He would jump over the waves with it on and he would also swim with it on at the pool. The beach was perfect on Friday when we first arrived but on Saturday there was a lot of seaweed and big crabs. I had my scare when I stepped on one at the first sand bar. It didn't pinch me, I could just feel him trying to figure out why all of a sudden he couldn't move. I felt his legs squirming under my foot. We also found some hermit crabs, actually about 8. No we did not take them home, they were the ones that lived in the ocean so they would have died rather quickly. Ashton thought those were pretty cool. He kept trying to touch them in the bucket but we had to remind him that they would pinch him. We all went home a little pink but no major sunburns. It was another awsome experience and I hope we can go back again this summer.
